BoFiNet signed a long-term international capacity lease with a South African partner. The deal raises Botswana’s available international capacity through Ramatlabama and Pioneer Gate from 300Gbps to 1Tbps.
The upgrade strengthens Botswana’s digital backbone. It adds redundancy and supports uninterrupted connectivity. BoFiNet says the investment protects service quality and keeps the country competitive in a digital global economy.
CEO Dr Geoffrey Seleka said the world is moving toward a digital-first future. Botswana must keep pace, he said. The agreement gives customers and the nation reliable, scalable, cost-effective connectivity.
Seleka said the infrastructure will power Botswana’s economy for decades. The 1Tbps capacity places BoFiNet among Africa’s forward-looking ICT players. The company plans more infrastructure and partnerships to connect Botswana to the global digital economy.
“Our responsibility extends beyond business. We are entrusted with connecting a nation,” Seleka said. He said every upgrade, partnership and investment is driven by service quality and a vision of a digitally empowered Botswana. BoFiNet is not only meeting today’s demand; it is preparing for what comes next.
